fielded by the Committee Pugliese "Water Common Good" and the Italian Forum of Water Movements, the Region has also undertaken to approve soon a regional law that enshrines the transformation from Aqueduct Pugliese SpA to public corporation, thus defining the total water flow from the laws of the market.
We consider this act a remarkable achievement, the result of years of work for water movement, who were able to build a strong popular resistance to privatization of water, through the experience of hundreds of local committees, the establishment of the Coordination of Local Authorities for Ripubblicizzazione Water Services, in line with the proposals contained in the national law of popular initiative for ripubblicizzazione water that has collected over 400,000 signatures of which 30,000 only in Puglia , lying in the Parliament since 2007.
Certainly we are facing an important first step, to be followed by the end of the first concrete action by the Regional Council through the presentation of a bill.

Just in recent weeks, in fact, the Italian Forum of the movements launched the National Campaign "Save Water" ( http://www.acquabenecomune.org/ ) which aims to mobilize civil society, citizens and local authorities against the commodification of water set by the government with the 'Article 15 of Decree 135/09 and the principles contained in the resolution approved are to show that the ripubblicizzazione of water services is a viable here and now.
